F.A.Q's
FAQ's
1. What is the dress code?
We ask that students dress neatly and modestly. Students should not wear clothing that could be offensive to any person or people group.
2. How do you handle discipline?
At Rejoice!, we encourage positive reinforcement. We encourage and reward good behavior. We offer special incentives within the classroom, and we also have a Student of the Week who is recognized schoolwide. In middle school and high school, we have a choice point system. Students who do not receive any choice points in a semester receive a skip pass which may be used any day the following semester.
3. Do you have chapel services?
We do have chapel twice a month. During chapel, we have a time for praise and worship, student participation, and a challenging message by one of our own faculty members or a guest speaker. Our drama and dance ministry teams and our choirs perform in chapel. We have also had special guests such as Dan the Animal Man to come and share with us. The highlight of our chapel services are our Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter chapels.
4. Are parents required to be involved in the school?
We do not require, but we do welcome, parent involvement. We desire to partner together with parents in the education of their children. Parents are invited to be involved in Parents in Action, and to assist the teachers with various projects, class parties, field trips, etc.
5. Do you do any type of end of year testing?
We use the California Achievement Test and it is administered to all students in kindergarten through eleventh grade each May.
6. Do you accept students with special needs?
We do accept students with special needs as long as our faculty and staff are equipped to educate and help those students. If we do not feel that we are qualified to help a student, we will assist that student's family in finding a school that is a better fit.
7. What curriculum do you use?
We primarily use the A Beka curriculum. We use Bob Jones for math and Positive Action for Christ for Bible. Our teachers use manipulatives in math and do a lot of "hands on" work in history and science. We offer honor classes in high school for students who are qualified to take those classes.
8. What types of extra curricular activities do you offer?
We have a Military Training Corps, a drama and dance ministry team, a musical theatre program, as well as a wide variety of dance, drama, music and art classes. We also offer private instruction in music, drama, dance and art.
